Sometimes it seems like the Obama campaign
has ignored the “schvitz-boating” problem in the Jewish
community. Countering that impression at a recent steering committee
meeting for Obama supporters, the
campaign announced it was forming “JCLC's” in all
major areas of the country.
These “Jewish Community Leadership Committees” are not just for wealthy donors, but for workers and thinkers too, who can generate rapid responses to the smears, represent Obama at local community centers and synagogues across America, organize and participate in get-out-the-vote efforts targeted at Jewish Americans, and otherwise help Obama to capture the Jewish vote.
The Los Angeles JCLC had a meeting on June 26, New York had one on June 30, and Boston is scheduled for July 11. Jews for Obama will be working closely with the JCLC's in the coming months. In upcoming issues of the Newsletter, we'll tell you how you can get involved as well!
